Autumn Salad in a Jar

  1. Salad dressing: Pour 1 to 4 tablespoons of your favorite honey mustard salad dressing in the bottom of the jar. Adjust the amount of dressing depending on the size of the salad you are making and your personal preference.

  2. Hard vegetables: Next, add

1 Granny Smith Apple, sliced into thin slices.
  3. Cheese and proteins: Add a layer of

3 oz. sharp cheddar cheese, diced.
  4. Softer vegetables and fruits: Next, add

2 Tab. currents (or other dried fruit).
  5. Nuts, seeds, and lighter grains: Next, add

1/4 cup black walnuts (or regular walnuts)
  6. Salad greens: Last but not least, fill the rest of the jar with 3 cups Arugula. Use your hands to tear them into bite-sized pieces. It's fine to pack them into the jar fairly compactly.
